What is happening here is real madness! Who are you now: king or rogue? Guru or widow? A witch or a peasant? Your role is your mask, but does it belong to you?.. Maybe not anymore... you can't be sure unless you check it out! New design and new images in the game of hidden roles, bluff and constant intrigue can surprise - do not miss the enchanting masquerade!
The reissued Mascarade has not only updated the wrapper! Second Edition contains 17 role cards, some of which made their way here from the original Mascarade base game, and some from the 2014 expansion. Now your celebration of life will be even more chaos and fun!

Appearances can often be deceiving! The talented author of psychological board hits Bruno Faidutti has invited you this time not to the Citadel, but to a masquerade ball! Get ready to play mask properties (if other players allow you to do so) and earn coins (if all your gold doesn't go to paying fines!). The game is over as soon as someone can boast a fortune of 13 coins, or as soon as one of you has lost the last penny.
What's good about a masquerade is that it's always a big company, there are enough roles for everyone, and there will even be more left over - you never know which masks are on the table now, and which ones are left in the box. By the way, we are not kidding about the opaque table in the title of this section - that's how it is! You will often have to manipulate the cards under the table, and the glass surface will not facilitate your successful bluffing!
GAME PROCESS
After four introductory moves, which will take place according to special rules, we will take turns performing one of the actions. You can look at your mask card without showing it to others, secretly switch your mask card and another player's mask card (or pretend to switch), or announce your mask to activate its power.
Masks have a wide variety of asymmetric powers that will allow you to take coins from the bank, steal them from other players, force your opponent to declare his mask and take coins from him if he made a mistake, force another player to show you his card, and more.
If no one challenged your decision when you declared your mask, its property is activated immediately. You can not show your card to other players - no one has the right to bite into your manipulation! However, when you claim to be a Princess and one bearded friend sitting next to you also claims to be a Princess, you will have to reveal your roles to each other and pay a penalty of 1 coin if suddenly one of you turns out not to be a Princess, but, for example, Puppet.
