DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME TERRAFORMING MARS

Terraforming Mars is an economic strategy for 1-5 players, where participants become the heads of megacorporations that invest huge sums of money in changing the environment of the planet Mars for its further settlement by colonists. They will invest money not for altruistic reasons - each successfully completed operation will increase their status before the earthly government, ensuring future economic prosperity. The work must be considerable - we must increase the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere by growing forests, raise the temperature of the air to an acceptable level for the human body, and fill the oceans with water - the source of all life.

 At the beginning of the game, each player chooses a corporation card with a unique starting set of resources and special properties. Players also receive 10 action cards each - a key component of Terraforming Mars . All cards in the game are unique and offer a wide variety of game effects, combinations and connections. Experienced players, if they wish, can distribute these cards among themselves by drafting in order to plan their strategy before the start of the game. The received cards are not yet the property of the player - they are projects of engineers, which he, as the head of the corporation, must accept (pay in megacredits) or reject (send to reset).

 The projects purchased by the corporation are its plans for the improvement of Mars. To implement them, the player plays one or another card and pays its value in megacredits. Some cards additionally require any resource or the presence of other cards with special symbols. Played cards can give a certain amount of one or another resource, increase the level of resource production, allow you to lay out tiles of Martian cities, seas and forests, provide new actions that can be performed in subsequent rounds.

 As soon as an action card or other effect brings one of the three terraforming parameters of Mars closer to the desired level, the player increases their status on a special track. In addition to high status, the player can receive bonus victory points for achievements in one or another field of conquering Mars. For example, for eight megacredits, the player gets the title of mayor if he has three or more cities on Mars, or the title of landscaper if he has planted at least 3 forest tiles on Mars.

 When everyone has played the actions, the phase of obtaining resources comes - players receive resources according to the level of their production. There are six resources in the game: steel, titanium, energy, plants, heat and megacredits. Megacredits are needed to pay for projects, titanium and steel serve as additional resources when paying for cards or actions, after collecting eight plants, you can exchange them for forest tiles and put them on the Mars map, thereby increasing the amount of oxygen. Energy is converted into heat, accumulating which you can raise the temperature in the atmosphere.

END OF THE GAME

 The terraforming of Mars is completed when, through the combined efforts of the players, the level of oxygen, temperature and water reaches the required value. The players sum up their status level with the victory points obtained during the game (for laid out forest and city tiles, played cards) and the player who has gained the most value becomes the winner!

 Without further exaggeration, Terraforming Mars board game is capable of conquering the heart of any player! Thematic events, interesting projects, well-thought-out locations - all this gives a cosmic atmosphere and, in some sense, a sense of team play - after all, other participants also influence the development of the Red Planet, albeit in their own way. In the course of the game, the participants find themselves in a whirlwind of events, and let the same ending await the players every time, new ways to it will open up in each game.
