 We investigated crimes in the golden age of the eighties, as well as in post-war America, which was gripped by the Great Depression. But this time we have to dig even deeper. Players go to the Middle Ages, full of mystical secrets and revelations.

DETECTIVE EPIC

 Here is the game that started the series called "Millennium". The new series can be compared to the detective version of the novel "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel García Márquez, which tells the story of the ancient Parisian Lavelle family. A large-scale detective epic describes the adventures of various representatives of a noble family over many centuries. The relatives of Sherlock Holmes could not even dream of such a thing.

 The hero of the first game is the knight Abelard Lavelle, who is tormented by terrible night visions of committed and future crimes. The events take place in 1400 AD. Such an unusual type and medieval setting remind us of the film "The Name of the Rose", which was based on the novel of the same name by Umberto Eco. There, the Franciscan monk William Baskerville, whose surname is a kind of reference to the legendary detective, acts as a detective. This coincidence is not accidental, because Abelard has a faithful dog. And this, in turn, is a reference to the series "Commissar Rex".

TERRIBLE VISIONS AND TERRIBLE REALITY

 At first, the terrible dreams struck fear into Abelard's heart, but he soon learned to use them to solve crimes. The Middle Ages is a rather harsh era, so the game is rated 18+.

 In addition to the introductory scenario, three independent cases await us. We will investigate the murder of a young scribe in a scriptorium, a death in a public bath, and a bloody ritual that was carried out in a prison cell in the Château de Châtelet.

TIME TO GATHER EVIDENCE AND RECEIVE REVELATIONS

 It must be said that we are not going into the dark, but into the very advanced Middle Ages. During the game, participants use a special application and scan QR codes from maps and tablets. The application will help you breathe life into characters, evidence and locations.

 The game has a number of innovations that distinguish it from its predecessors. For starters, you can actually search for evidence. The player either wears special glasses, which are not included in the set, or uses a phone. In the latter case, the screen changes your surroundings and you find yourself at the scene of the crime. You can search for evidence within a limited time.

 The time you have to investigate isn't infinite either. You need to solve the case before the criminal escapes. After gathering enough information, you can try to answer a series of questions. Players spend time interacting with character cards and location tablets.

 Another important feature of the game is vision cards. In order to solve the case, players not only use the found evidence and witness statements, but also try to interpret the mysterious pictures that Abelard sees. In addition, if the investigation has reached a dead end, you can ask for help from numerous relatives or a sniffer dog. Simply scan the item and your faithful Percival will follow in the owner's footsteps.
