AEG
Alderac Entertainment Group , or AEG , is a publisher of role-playing and collectible card games. AEG was founded in 1993 and is based in Ontario, California. Before entering the current markets, AEG worked on hobbyist gaming magazines, with their first product being Shadis magazine (winner of the 1994, 1995 and 1996 Origins Awards for Best Professional Gaming Magazine).
For 15 years, AEG published Legend of the Five Rings and related CCG and RPG lines.
Including the three Shadis Awards mentioned above, AEG products have won eight Origins Awards.
In 2009, AEG entered the board game market with 10 new releases of board games. Thunderstone had notable success in this wave of releases. 2011 saw the debut of Nightfall, an aggressive deck building game featuring a chaining mechanic developed with the help of BGG users.
In 2012, AEG released a widely acclaimed version of Thunderstone known as Thunderstone Advance. Later that year, they published Smash Up, a card game and new line of Eurogames set in the shared world of Tempest - Dominare, Mercante and Courtier.
