DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME TERRAFORMING MARS: ARES EXPEDITION

 How to Terraform Mars without long hours of thinking, overgrown with dozens of technologies, complex combinations and complex calculations of winning points? Try to do it as part of the Expedition to Ares! "Terraforming Mars. Ares Expedition" is a stand-alone game in the Conquest of Mars series that will allow you to colonize Mars much faster, focusing on building a card engine and activating round phases. Now you don't need to build cities on the Mars playing field - the game is limited to oceans and greenery, and the main emphasis is on the maps and phases in which they are activated.

HOW TO PLAY?

 As the house begins with the nail, the Ares Expedition begins with the corporation - each player chooses one of the two maps of the corporation, which will determine his  starting set of resources and special abilities and effects for the whole game. Players also receive their own tablet for tracking resources and a starting set of project maps.

 In their turn, each player chooses one phase of the round in the open, after which all selected cards are opened and the phases are activated. Players who are unable to choose two identical phases in a row. All players will perform the actions of the activated phases, but the one who activated it will receive a small bonus. There are 5 phases in the game:

• Development phase - each player can play one green card by paying the cost. (Bonus: If you have activated this phase, reduce the value of the card played in this phase by 3 MC)
• Construction phase - each player can play one red or blue card, paying the cost. (Bonus: If you have activated this phase, you can: take a card before or after the card is drawn, or play an additional blue or red card in this round)
• Action Phase - Each player can activate "actions" on their cards once. Also, each player can use any standard action any number of times. (Bonus: If you have activated this phase, you can activate the "action" on one of your cards one more time)
• Production Phase - Each player receives the resources listed in the "production" column of their green project cards, as well as corporation cards, and marks them on their tablet. (Bonus: If you activate this phase, you will receive 4 MC)
• Research phase - each player takes two cards, then leaves one on his hand and discards the other. (Bonus: If you have activated this phase, you take three extra cards and leave one extra card in your hand. That is, you take five cards and leave two of them in your hand)

 By playing project cards, players gain more and more resources by building new combinations.

THROUGH THORNS TO MARS

 The game goes on until Mars becomes fit enough for life - players must raise the level of oxygen, temperature and the number of oceans on the red planet to the required level. As soon as the players bring the living conditions on the planet to the required level, the colonist who scored the most winning points becomes the winner.
