DESCRIPTION OF BOARD GAME TAKENOKO 

 Takenoko is a family board game that has a fairly high rating and a lot of fans around the world. In Takenoko, players will develop gardening and grow bamboo. To do this, the game has a character - Gardener. However, there is another main character - Panda. Cute, and moderately fattened bear, moving through the garden, will devour the young shoots of delicious bamboo. No, it's not a confrontation between a gardener and a panda, it's much more interesting.

 Many components of the game are placed in a convenient organizer. Elements of bamboo in three colors, irrigation canals, weather cube and various chips are made of wood. You'll also find tiles that will make up gardens, players' personal tablets and task cards. Undoubtedly, the main decoration of the game are the figures of the Gardener and the Panda - they are wonderful.

PREPARING FOR THE GAME

 Distribute to each player on a personal tablet and two chips, which the player will mark their actions in the game. In the center of the playing field place the first tile - pond (lake), the main source of water in future gardens. Both the main characters of the game - Gardener and Panda - start from it. Shuffle other tiles of the area and place an inverted glass nearby. Place irrigation canals somewhere else, sort by color and shuffle decks of task cards, and give each player one card of each color. Give the first player a dice that determines the weather and we start the game.

DETERMINATION OF WEATHER CONDITIONS

 The player's move begins with the throw of the climate cube. Depending on the value, he gets additional conditions for his move. Everything is very convenient and clearly marked on the personal tablets of players, but:

• The sun . The sun is shining over Takenoko's gardens, so the player gets extra action. Initially, a player can perform only two actions (see below), and in sunny weather - three.
• Rain helps bamboo grow, so the player can add one element of this plant to one of the garden tiles.
• In windy weather, the player has the right to perform two identical actions. Any other weather is forbidden.
• During a storm, the Panda moves through the garden. The player can place a panda figurine on any garden tile. Panda eats one segment of bamboo on this tile.
• If the sky above the clouds dragged Takenoko gardens, the player can use to improve chip area. For example, place a token on one of the tiles that forbids the panda to eat bamboo. From now on, the panda has no right to even stay in this place.
• The question mark on the dice means that the player can choose any of the above conditions.

 After determining the weather, the player enters the action phase.

ACTIONS

 In turn, the player can choose two of the five available options. You can't do the same thing in one go unless, of course, you have windy weather (see above). The player places his action chips on the corresponding pictures on the personal tablet:

• Expansion of the territory. If the player chooses this action, he takes three garden tiles from the deck, one of which is placed on the field, be sure to adjoin it to the others.
• Lay an irrigation canal . Bamboo shoots can grow only on irrigated tiles. So do not forget to draw water from a nearby irrigated tile.
• Move the panda . The player takes a panda figure and moves it in any direction in a straight line, on any number of tiles. Where the panda stops, it eats one segment of bamboo. The player places the eaten element of grass on his personal tablet.
• Move the gardener . The gardener moves the player exactly according to the same rules as the Panda. Only unlike the bear, where the gardener will stop, a new segment is added to the bamboo. And one segment of bamboo is added on all neighboring tiles, if they have the same color.
• Choose a task . Take the task card in hand, after which the player will receive extra points. Learn more about the task in the next paragraph.

TASK

 All tasks in Takenoko are divided into three types:

• The task of the Gardener . These maps show what size and what color, on any of the tiles of the garden, should grow bamboo.
• Panda's task . These tasks indicate how many and what color segments of bamboo the panda must eat to complete the task.
• Tasks of the territory . To perform this type of task, players must strive to make the territory of a given shape and color on the playing field.

 After completing a task, the player shows this card to the players and presents it to himself. At the end of the game, the points indicated on the task map will be added to its result. As soon as one of the players completes 8 tasks, the last round and the end of the game. We count points, and the best player receives personal thanks from the Japanese Emperor.
