DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: CASTLE RAVENLOFT

 Among the dark forests of Barovia rises the gloomy Ravenloft Castle. This neighborhood does not promise anything good to the inhabitants of the nearby villages, because the owners of the castle have a terrible thirst for human blood. Brave heroes go to the woods, shrouded in ghostly fog, to put an end to the atrocities of the vampire. But is the vampire to blame for his bitter fate? "Castle Ravenloft" is a cooperative game in the fantasy genre, which begins the series "Dungeons & Dragons". The game is interesting because the events unfold in the pocket dimension (demiplan) Ravenloft. In fact, this is a small area of a huge gaming universe.

THE MOST DRAMATIC GAME OF THE SERIES?

 The main villain, Count Strad von Zarovich, who lives in the same ill-fated castle, deserves special attention. His name is given to the Romanian flavor and makes you remember the famous vampire Vlad Tsepes Dracula. Barovia, in turn, is a reference to Transylvania and Romania at the same time. Like his legendary predecessor, Strad von Zarovich is distinguished by the seal of nobility and great strength. His appearance and clothes also repeat the classic image of a vampire in the movies - pale skin, black cloak with a high collar and red lining.

 The plot of the game is quite dramatic, because the main antagonist character is very ambiguous. It is impossible to say that we are facing a hundred percent villain. Rather, he is a patriot who sacrificed everything for the sake of his country. When Barovia was attacked by the tribes of the Tergs, he signed a treaty with the demon-Yugolot Inajira to win the decisive battle. The price of victory is the soul of the count. Once again, we see a reflection of the Romanian legend of Dracula, who sold his soul to the devil. As a result, the count, as they say, stuck. There is no way back. It remains only to sit in the castle, occasionally making raids and sucking the blood of innocent victims. And here the heroes go to mow you. In short, life succeeded. Well, what about the heroes?

HEROES AGAINST THE DEAD

 The earl's castle is invaded by the elven magician Immeril, a dwarf named Torgrim, who holds the rank of cleric, the charming thief Kate and the ranger Alyssa, as well as the dragon-born warrior Arjan. In order not to spend his days alone, the count inhabited the castle walls with all sorts of undead. You will meet the living skeletons, the dead, the bone dragon Gravestorm and disembodied but very dangerous spirits.

HOW TO PLAY

 Participants have access to 13 scenarios of varying complexity. The gameplay is an alternation of moves of players and monsters. In his turn, the player can move the hero twice, or make one move and one attack. If at the end of the move the figure stopped at the extreme distribution of the field, you need to take a new tile and expand the field. Increasing the field entails the emergence of new monsters and contacts. Contact cards include unique events and traps. When it is the turn of the monsters to walk, they move around the playing field and attack the heroes closest to them.

THE CONTINUERS OF THE VAN HELSING CASE

 The result of collisions with monsters is determined by throwing dice. In addition to abilities and strength, the monster's map shows the strength of the attack and health. Players roll the dice and apply the appropriate modifiers. Defeating a monster can provide you with weapons, equipment, increased attack, health, and new rules. For defeating the undead, players receive experience points, with which you can pump the characters and cancel unwanted events. When the character is shaken enough, his tablet overturns. Indicators of life and defense increase, the hero finds a new ability - a critical strike. To deal a fatal blow to the enemy, you need to throw the highest value on the dice.
