A neon sign nearby flashed several times and went out. And over the metropolis there was a powerful roar of a jet engine and two fighter jets appeared in the sky. But suddenly, a huge Kraken climbed out of the tallest skyscraper and, snapping its claws, grabbed the planes as if they were annoying flies. Tossing the twisted piles of metal to one side, the Kraken lunged at the Mechadrakon, screeching menacingly…

WHAT IS THE GAME ABOUT?

 King of Tokyo: Dark edition is a deluxe edition of the loud board hit from game designer Richard Garfield. The game sold huge copies and was localized in various languages, including Ukrainian. The new edition is distinguished by a completely new visual style, as if the case is taking place in an alternative, dark reality. The artist did a great job with the illustrations, light and shadows. The monsters have acquired a more ominous appearance, and the sight of a dilapidated Tokyo burning creates a unique neo-noir atmosphere.

NEW GAME MECHANICS

 In terms of rules, the core mechanics have not changed. Controlling a giant monster, you still need to become the king of Tokyo either by gaining 20 victory points or by destroying all opponents. This is a game with a controlled element of randomness, because dice are used to play out actions, which, however, can be rolled several times to achieve or at least try to achieve the desired result. In addition, some new elements have appeared in the game, which not only add variety, but also significantly increase replayability. Deluxe components are also shaped plastic energy markers, six black and two translucent white cubes, a convenient plastic organizer and a lot of fun to play!
