DESCRIPTION OF BOARD GAME LET'S CATCH THE LION!

 Why don't we play... chess, kids? Madoka Kitao thought once and, in the company of a friend, another knowledgeable lady, created a children's version of the Japanese version of this game. - Look, everything is very simple, - said the professional segistas, - here is an elephant, here is a chicken, there is also a giraffe.

 All figures move to one square. Let's finally catch this elusive lion! Then dads and moms sat down, thought-thought, caught-caught, and they liked it so much that they did not give the game to the children, but started holding championships and tournaments from this logical safari!

ANIMAL SENSE AND PRECISE CALCULATION

 Is the game childish? Definitely. Simple? That's another way to say it! Well, its rules are definitely more transparent than anywhere else, get ready, now we will tell you them right here!

 The playing field consists of 12 cells. We divide it conditionally into two halves and place four allied combat units on their six positions. In the center of the panorama, in the row closest to us, the king of beasts will rest on his laurels - the chess king, who has the right to walk in all directions. To the right of him we will place a giraffe that can only walk horizontally, the place on the left will be occupied by an elephant, which is an elephant in Africa and in chess, he will patrol the diagonals here.

 All that remains is to hide all this formidable army behind the chicken pawn - and you can start hunting for the opponent's lion. For convenience, the directions in which the figure can move are marked with dots on the edges of the tiles. For example, a chicken has only one dot in front of its beak, which means that this single-minded bird knows what it wants: to reach the edge of the field to finally become a queen chicken!

NAILS INTO THE TEETH - AND INTO THE ATTACK!

 The fight, i.e. "eating" the figure, takes place in the direction of movement, so it will not be possible to get confused even if you want to do it.

 The main difference from classical chess is that after a piece is "eaten", it does not disappear anywhere, but goes to your stock, from which you can always add it to any position of the field during your turn. The exception is again the chicken, which cannot be raised to a chicken only by putting it on the last row from the reserve - it must go through the difficult path of evolution on its own.

LOGIC WILL WIN

 You can win Catch the Lion, or Dobutsu Shogi, as it is called in Japanese, if your lion reaches the opposite side of the field without being threatened by anyone, or if you yourself drive the opponent's lion into a corner so that he cannot there was room to jump out from under the "chess".

WHO IS THE GAME FOR?

 This game was invented so that children could skillfully learn to play Japanese chess on an equal footing with adults, without being distracted by complex hieroglyphs. The creators recommend introducing children to it from the age of 4, but if you yourself rarely take out a dusty box with chess from the closet and do not raise a child prodigy, then start catching lions a little later, for example, when the child is about to enter the first grade.
