We, the Ukrainian Cossacks, were not destined to know Japanese culture in full, so do not try. But to open the veil of mystery, to bring it closer and understand it, though we can go a little different ways. Someone gets to know Japan through the work of Haruki Murakami, others through traditional tea ceremonies or eating popular sushi rolls. You can also practice Japan by using sake, but the main thing is not to overdo it. We offer you another variant of exploration of the Land of the Rising Sun - Okey Board Game.

What first?

Randomly spread 4 to 4 cards on the table with Japanese drawings. They show almost all Japanese symbols: the sakura, the rising sun, and the tanzaku on iris flowers and more. They all make up the Imperial Garden. Players will also receive 8 geishas of their color.

Note that each image has two attributes: a plant (maple leaf, sakura, iris or pine) and a feature (sun, tanzaku, bird or rain). If you cannot distinguish tanjaku from pine, do not worry, the rules have an explanation for this.

And what's next?

In his turn, the player can pick up any tyl from the garden and put in his place a geisha token. The picture is then reset to face up. The next player also picks up a picture from the Imperial Garden, but only by following one rule: the picture must match the top in the dump at least on one attribute (by plant or by feature). That is, if a tile with a sakura and the sun lies in the dump, the player must take a tile where there will be a sakura or the sun. Already a new picture is placed on top of the reset pile, and the turn returns to the first participant.

By changing tiles to geisha tokens, players must strive to fulfill one of two conditions for winning: place 4 of their tokens in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line, or, in principle, block the opponent's turn.

How to win?

The player who fulfilled one of the prerequisites is awarded the victory and his home is a geisha: the attention and indulgence of the Emperor himself.
