DESCRIPTION OF EXPANSION 7 WONDERS: CITIES - SECOND EDITION

 The second addition to the popular board game 7 Wonders: 2nd Edition reveals a new side of our cities. Cities are growing, competition is increasing, the government is becoming greedy - it is to these realities that one has to adapt. The "City" expansion adds new features that increase competition and interaction between players: espionage, diplomacy and mandatory financial losses. The add-on is not standalone, so having the base game is a must.

UPDATED CITIES

 As in the case of the second edition of the base game, new art awaits us. We see the face of the spy who was standing with his back to us earlier. He has changed his clothes a little and is watching the solemn procession (smile).

 The maximum number of players has been reduced to seven. Iconography has become more intuitive. Leaders that appeared in the first edition of the add-on have been carried over to the add-on 7 Wonders: Second Edition – Leaders . To improve the balance, the guilds made separate promos. We also note the reworked miracles in terms of balance.

DARK CITY

 The Cities expansion is very different from the first Leaders expansion. New era cards are added to the game - 9 cards in each of the three eras. These cards introduce a new look to buildings and are highlighted with a black background. In addition to many interesting features of cards containing basic actions and resources, "Cities" introduce three novelties:

• Financial losses. This action is always aimed at the opponents of the player who played the card. If the action obliges to suffer financial losses, then the players have to make a choice: pay with coins from their treasury, pay partially and get the difference with loan tokens, or take a loan token for the entire amount. A loan token cannot be redeemed during the game, and will result in penalty points at the end of the game.
• Diplomacy. After playing a card with a diplomacy symbol, you get a peace token. Holders of such tokens do not participate in the conflict resolution phase - the phase is played as if you were not there. Diplomacy not only saves you from military action, but also forces your neighbors to resolve the conflict among themselves. After the conflicts phase, the token is reset.
• Espionage. Technological progress cannot always be achieved scientifically. If someone has already made a discovery, why invent the bicycle? You can engage in espionage or find out with a passion the secrets of people who have the appropriate level of access. Espionage allows you to use the scientific achievements of your neighbors for your own purposes - add a technology icon to your kit.

EVEN MORE POSSIBILITIES

 The add-on includes two Wonders of the World tablets. The era cards are shuffled into their respective decks, and players start each round with 8 cards in their hands. A team game option is provided. A team refers to two participants standing next to each other. The game is played according to the usual rules, and the points scored by the team members are added up. The winner is determined by the total number of points.

WHO IS THE GAME FOR?

The add-on is recommended for all owners of the board game 7 Wonders: 2nd Edition - Cities. If you want to diversify the game, then "Cities" is just the case. Espionage, Financial Losses and Diplomacy allow you to try out new strategies.
