Description

DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME LOONY QUEST

Despite the fact that the time of high technology has long since begun, simple 8-bit console games from the distant 80s of the 20th century have not lost their popularity until now. Controlling one or another character (Mario, Mowgli, Aladdin), you had to go through all the levels, collecting useful things (coins, fruits) and dodging enemies (walking mushrooms, predators, fireballs). One day, Laurent Escoffier and David Franck, fans of similar games, came up with the idea to translate similar games into a board format. This is how a very simple and interesting Loony Quest game was born!

GAME PROCESS

Two to five players can participate in the game Loony Quest , who will "pass" the levels with the help of a felt-tip pen and a special field on which they will draw different figures. In the game, the levels are represented by cardboard fields, on which one or another game scene is depicted. There are a total of 42 levels in the game, performed in 7 different game "locations": jungle, ice, desert, temple, magma, mechanisms and epic.

Players choose one of the presented worlds and place the field of the first level of this world in a special organizer located in the box with the game itself. Each participant receives a felt-tip pen, a transparent plastic field and a cardboard backing for it. Each level dictates its own task, which players must complete on their transparent fields. For example, players must draw a continuous line from the starting point to the final point, bypassing obstacles, circle some object or mark it with dots.

After all players have familiarized themselves with the task, a timer (hourglass) is set, and everyone simultaneously begins to draw the necessary figures on their fields. The players need a good range of motion and firmness of movement, because the transparent field lies right in front of them, and the field with the task is separate and you need to constantly check how accurately the players are drawing.

After the time is up, players take turns applying their transparent fields to the field of the current level and checking the correctness of what is drawn. If the drawn lines meet the requirements of the task, the player receives victory points for them. If the player's drawing is inaccurate (lines cross prohibited places, do not connect the necessary points), then the player receives a penalty. When the points are counted, the field of the second level is taken, and the one drawn by the players is erased with special caps.

In the Loony Quest game, in addition to victory points, players can receive bonus tokens that they can play both on themselves and against other players. For example, you can put a mosquito token on the free end of another player's felt-tip pen - now he must draw in such a way that the token does not fall from his felt-tip pen.

When the players pass all the levels of the selected location, the final points are tallied and the player with the most points is the winner!
