 One of the first modern board games that shook the hegemony of ancient abstracts. SUCCESS STORY

 In 1934, Darrow took his game to Parker Brothers. Parker rejected the project - not because the game was a remake of the older game "Landlord", but allegedly because of errors in the game design. In fact, Darrow, as is usually the case, was a little ahead of his time. Be that as it may, the author did not give up and decided to publish Monopoly at his own expense.

 And here success awaited him. Darrow made and sold about 5,000 copies of the game in a Philadelphia department store. And then he met again with representatives of Parker Brothers. In 1936, "Monopoly" became a bestseller in the United States. Today, more than five hundred million people play Monopoly.

GAME PROCESS
