Exploding Kittens LLC

 A couple of years ago, Elan Lee (at the time he worked at Microsoft) noticed that his nieces and nephews, who used to come and play Halo, never talked or laughed, even though they were sitting right beside him. "It seemed so sad," he shares. "I started to feel responsible for that because I was the one who put those pixels on the screen." That's how the seeds for Explosive Kittens came out! Lee teamed up with Shane Small to create a nice old-fashioned card game, which they then shared with Matt Inman of The Oatmeal. Inman helped rethink the theme and illustrate the maps with his iconic style.

 In 2015, the three launched a project on Kickstarter to earn just enough money to produce the first five hundred decks - $ 10,000. They made 8.9 million! Today, Kitten Blasts remains the most supported project on Kickstarter, and Elan Lee and Matt Inman are as busy as ever, brainstorming new ways to rid people of pixels for conversation and fun.
