DESCRIPTION OF BOARD GAME MOMBASA

 The board game Mombasa (Mombasa) takes place on the African continent, where European conquerors colonized a number of states. To increase economic influence in Africa, the colonialists established 4 large trading companies: in Mombasa, Cairo, Cape Town and St. Louis. Strong trade and economic ties based on fruit trade and diamond mining should be established between enterprises. The participants of the game will act as shareholders of these companies, which belong to them: to develop trade, capture new markets, increase the value of shares of companies and buy their shares, mine diamonds and keep accounts. There will be a lot of competition between the shareholders of the four related companies, in which the most successful and enterprising participant will win.

GAME MECHANICS

 Mombasa is a complex Eurogame, which combines several interesting mechanics: simultaneous planning and selection of actions, location of employees by location, economic component in the form of stock quotes, movement of track markers, capture and control of territories. Not every game can boast of such a set of mechanics and most importantly, such a successful combination.

BEFORE THE GAME

 To begin, lay out on the table a playing field with a map of the African continent, on four sides of which are the bases of companies: in Mombasa, Cairo, Cape Town and St. Louis. Each player receives a diamond and an accounting track for scoring. Successful progress on these tracks will bring players winning points at the end of the game. In addition, participants receive markers and chips of their color, as well as a deck of 10 starting cards. The game has a lot of elements, all of them are located according to the rules of the game: trading posts of companies (houses) on their bases, markers of players on the starting positions of tracks of trading companies, etc. It should look something like this:

GAME PROCESS

 The course of the players is divided into three successive phases:

 Planning . When planning, indoor players place cards under their tablets that they are going to play in this round. The number of cards depends on the number of free slots for them. At the start of the game, each player has three slots, but during the game their number can be increased with the help of earned bonuses. When all the players have placed the cards, they open them at the same time, and the action phase begins.

 Actions . The phase of action directly depends on the cards that the players planned to play. All cards can be divided into 4 types:

• Goods cards (bananas, coffee, cotton, etc.). After playing cards of goods, you can get new cards from the playing field, as well as move your marker on the track of trading companies, receiving certain bonuses and privileges.
• Expansion maps. These cards have different strengths and allow you to place trading posts on the playing field. Each placed trading post increases the value of the company's shares. Only one trading post of a company can be placed on one section of the card, so it is very important to control your market, otherwise another company will place its trading post, pushing yours out of the market.
• Diamond Mining Cards and Accountant Cards. By playing these cards, players move their markers on the appropriate tracks on the personal tablet, and they receive money and some bonuses under certain conditions.

 Slavery in the days of global colonialism was not abolished, so in the action phase, players can also place their workers in vacancies on the playing field and receive bonuses for it.

 At the end of the action phase, used cards are placed in special slots above the players' tablets, where they are stacked on top of previously used cards. In each round, each  player has the right to return one of the stacks of cards above the tablet. Such mechanics will make players think well and plan their moves in advance.

 Prepare for the next round . In this phase, update the cards on the playing field, give players the bonuses they have earned, and return their markers to the places on the playing field. Also move the coins on the track track. Now everything is ready for the next round, which will be seven.

END OF THE GAME

 At the end of the seventh round begins the final counting of points, or rather money. The account includes money, shares at their current value, diamond and accounting victory points. For convenient calculation, a special notebook is included. The richest shareholder will win.
