WHAT HORRORS THE THIRD EDITION IS PREPARING FOR US

 In the updated version, the main changes affected the design and gameplay. Inside the ill-fated box you will find 4 scenarios involving the appearance of the Ancients. Your opponents will be Cthulhu, Azatot, Hastur and Shub-Niggurat. The growing influence of these powerful beings on the material world is recorded on the track of hopelessness. Intensification of the dark influence is facilitated by the opening of gates, the defeat of investigators, the influx of monsters and other adverse events.

 Detectives will be the wall that should protect the world from the pervasive darkness. Each of them has undergone its own training and has a unique ability. But if before each hero had a fixed set of starting items, now all participants can personally equip their heroes with everything necessary to fight evil. Each character has five different skills - will, strength, attention, knowledge and communication. And, of course, everyone has their own story and their own motives that motivate him to get to the heart of the terrible events that overwhelmed Arkham.

MODULAR GAME FIELD

 Just as pure state of mind is replaced by madness, and vice versa, the playing field has been replaced by two-sided location tiles that are connected by passages. Each scenario corresponds to a certain combination of tiles. All this will save you space on the altar or game table. Traveling through this puzzle of madness and despair, you can explore different locations. Here you will find evidence and fight monsters, restore health and intelligence and do many other things.

TOKENS INSTEAD OF MYTH CARDS

 If before all the black affairs in Arkham filled the cards of myths, now they have been replaced by tokens. The latter, like myth maps, are activated in the appropriate phase. Myth tokens open gates, generate monsters, evidence, are responsible for rumors, weather and many other things.

MAPS OF ARCHIVES

 In the past, to prevent the end of the world, detectives had to close the gates leading to other worlds. Now the victorious goal is shrouded in a thick veil of secrecy. The plot component is performed by archive maps, which participants open during the game. Archive maps can have both positive and negative effects. Having gathered the necessary evidence, you will be able to use a card with a positive effect. The growth of hopelessness contributes to the discovery of negative cards.
