DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME MAGIC MAZE
Elf, Dwarf, Mage and Barbarian gathered to go to the cave to have fun: kill monsters, pull dragons by the tail and exterminate other evil spirits. But first, you need to arm yourself! And where, in your opinion, do fantasy heroes get their weapons?! That's right, in the special magic market Magic Maze . However, our heroes did not have any money, and they decided to go on a robbery...
Here is a real-time cooperative board game. The robbery of the store must be done quietly and quickly, until the time in the hourglass runs out. Otherwise, the security will catch you. It will not be easy - the mazes of the Magic Market are treacherous!
BEFORE THE GAME
Shuffle the maze tiles and stack them in a stack of holes. In the center of the table, place the starting tile of the store, and place 4 colorful hero tokens on it. The plan of the store and its labyrinths will be revealed to players according to the degree of its research and the placement of new tiles.
WARNING! In this game, you do not play for a specific hero, but for all characters at once. Your goal is to bring the heroes' tokens to the artifact (weapon) of the corresponding color, and then amicably escape from the store. It's all about 3 minutes, which the hourglass relentlessly counts down. However, the time can be increased, but we will talk about it a little below.
Players receive one action token in their hands, which indicates exactly which action (or two actions) the player can perform with any of the hero tokens. One of the participants will be able to move the chips to the north, to the other - to the west, the third will move the hero on the escalator or, for example, explore (insert new tiles) to the maze of the supermarket. The main thing is that everyone is responsible only for their actions.
BECAUSE SILENCE MUST BE DURING A ROBBERY
As soon as the hourglass is turned over, the game, or rather the heist, begins! The main rule of the game: participants are not allowed to communicate! Neither gestures nor sounds, let alone words. Any! The only thing allowed is to stare intently at another player, or to place a special token "Do something!" in front of him.
MOVING
There are no moves in the game! All participants simultaneously control the hero tokens, moving them through the Magomarket. Chips go on cells. Moreover, if the action "move to the north" is available to the player, he can move the chip any number of cells to the north until it rests against the wall. To return or turn, this chip must be picked up by the participant with the corresponding action.
On some tiles of the store, you will meet teleporters. This is a convenient thing for moving a chip over a long distance: it entered one portal, exited from another. The Use Portal action is also controlled by one of the game participants (and only him).
At first glance, nothing complicated! But we remind you that it is forbidden to communicate and agree on future actions, and to act in a coordinated and collective manner in complete silence is quite difficult. After all, the players have one goal, but everyone has their own plan to achieve it. This is where the watchful, malicious glances at each other begin, as well as the placement of the token "Do something!" in front of the player... and he will not understand that... (smile).
RESEARCH
The "Investigation" action is also managed by one of the game participants. This action allows you to attach new tiles to an existing store maze. In order for it to be available, the chip of the corresponding color must go to the cell with the image of the magnifying glass (research).
In this case, the player with the action "Research" and only he takes the top tile from the pile and places it in the maze. After that, any token of the hero can move to a new section of the maze.
LET'S TAKE TIME
No matter how cool it is, 3 minutes to rob Magomarket is very little. It's only in the cinema that you can steal something in "60 seconds", but we have a real robbery, not a cinematic one (smile). In the walls of the maze you will find cells with the image of an hourglass. If the hero token lands on this cell, the clock can be turned over and the time count will go backwards.
For greater efficiency, follow the clock and make a coup at the most profitable time. However, there is a catch: one cell with a clock can be used only once per game. To repeat the effect, look for another cell with this symbol.
WASH IT OFF!
When all heroes are placed on the cells with their weapon images: the Barbarian on the sword, the Mage on the potion, the Dwarf on the ax, and the Elf on the bow and arrows, that means the heist has taken place! Now you need to have time to wash off!
To do this, players must bring the heroes' chips to the exit from the Magomarket. But there was trouble here as well: the alarm went off in the store, which disabled all the teleporters. You will have to run away on your own!
END OF THE GAME
Everything is very simple! Have you run out of sand in your clock and your heroes are still in the shop? You were caught - you lost! Discuss the mistakes and plan the next heist more carefully. If you managed to leave Magic Maze - congratulations, you won! Try to go through a more difficult scenario of the game.
GAME SCENARIOS
The rules of the game provide for several scenarios. They are created to choose the level of difficulty of the game. At the first level, players are even allowed to talk, but what follows is more interesting and difficult. For example, a rule will come into play that only a Dwarf can pass through a small door in a shop, and movement of a shop tile marked with a video camera is generally prohibited until the Barbarian disables the camera, etc.
There are many more such "bells and whistles" in the game, and you will get to know each of them from game to game. When all the rules are mastered, you will be able to play your own invented scenarios and difficulty levels.
