DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME WAR OF THE RING CARD GAME - AGAINST THE SHADOW

 The compact but no less deep card version of War of the Ring is wonderful in its own way, but still imperfect. Why? After all, it has a great plot, an asymmetric strategic foundation, and fantastic illustrations... but... there is no possibility to play in single mode or to fight against the game itself in cooperative, and this is a great sadness. However, how joyful it is to know that the problem is solved!

 With the first addition to the War Ring: The Card Game board, we will be able to test two interesting modes at once: cooperative and solo. Now Shadow will no longer be a live player, she will be controlled by a bot, and players playing for free peoples will be able to unite in one team and defeat artificial intelligence for a common goal! You can also defeat the Shadow alone and drink the cup of victory to the bottom.

WHAT WILL CHANGE?

 So, unique Shadow cards have been created specifically for this expansion. Replace them with similar cards in the base box. Now, be careful: some scenarios like The Fellowship of the Ring, Duel of Two, and Duel of Three are only for solo play. Don't even try to play otherwise. But don't worry, this expansion can be played with any scenario. Choose "Trilogy" if you want to try the co-op mode.

 Prepare the game as you normally would for your chosen scenario. But remember that Shadow bots don't get ring tokens! Put the bot cards on the doleface table and don't look at them when you draw them from the deck. And in order to determine the winner, you will have to go through the last path of the scenario. Try it, we believe in you!

HOW TO CONTROL THE SHADOW WHEN IT IS UNDER BOT CONTROL

 All actions of the bot are conveniently included in a special algorithm. If you forget something, you can always look at the last page of the rules or a reminder card. It is important to note that the creation of the Shadow algorithm was done by the author of the game, Ian Brody himself, so its rules are maximally adapted to the mechanics of the original.

 Consider whether the bot can perform the card's action to its advantage. If so, apply the action of the card according to the following priority: on the way, on the battlefield, in reserve. If not, check if the bot can pass and pass, or move the card to a lane or battlefield where Shadow can win the fight. Play a random bot card from your hand if you can't pass or move. Use card draw priority and you can't go wrong!
