DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME GREAT WESTERN TRAIL

 Welcome to the Wild West, the land of majestic canyons, barren deserts and boundless plains. In the yard of the XIX century - the times of cowboys and Indians. However, do not rush to get your Colts and tomahawks, the Great Western Way is a strategic, economic and logistical board game from Alexander Pfister, in which players have to manage the distillation of cattle from Texas to Kansas City, to load it on freight trains.

 The participants of the game will be the owners of the ranch, they will hire workers, buy cattle, build buildings, manage the distillation process, get money for it to buy cattle again, and so on. The more and more valuable cattle you manage to overtake during the game, the more money and winning points they will receive.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX

 Inside the box you will find many components: a deck of cards with cows, tiles of workers, buildings, obstacles, wigwams, a common playing field, personal tablets of ranch owners, wooden chips of action and resources, coins, etc. Just look at how beautiful it all looks when unfolded.

GAME PROCEDURE

 Each participant has at his disposal a personal tablet, which keeps all current records of the state of his affairs:

 employees (cowboys, builders and engineers), a list of available actions, the level of certification of the company and an indicator of the current phase of the player's movement: moving the cowboy on the playing field, performing actions and selecting cards.

 Each of the employees has a function. Cowboys are needed to buy more expensive cows. The more builders, the more functional buildings they are able to build, and engineers will be needed in the railway race. Finding employees and hiring them is a labor exchange.

 So, participants need to travel from Texas to Kansas City and drive the cows they have. After overtaking their first herd and earning some money, they returned to Texas, bought new cows and drove them back to Kansas. During the whole game the participants will make 5-7 such races. In intermediate locations, players will build ancillary buildings to simplify and make distillation profitable.

 At the beginning of the game on the field are neutral buildings, accessible to all. Over time, players will build their own buildings to help them buy more cows, keep them clean, move faster in the race, overcome obstacles, and more. To activate the building effect, the player must reach this location and fulfill the necessary conditions for its activation.

 The deck of cattle cards consists of nine different breeds of cows and bulls. At the beginning of the game, the ranch owners receive cards of 4 breeds of cattle - this is their first herd for distillation.

 There are also goal maps in the game. Participants who meet the goals receive additional bonuses, and if they do not, they are fined. These goals are related to the global goal of the game - cow distillation, and have a more local level: to build a house, bargain with the Indians and more.

 At the end of the game, all the cowboys' property is converted into winning points: coins, buildings, train stations, completed goals, etc. The player with the maximum number of points will win.

 The Great Western Trail is a serious strategy board game in which players have to think a lot, plan moves and be able to build a flexible business model that can adapt to changing realities. Fans of Alexander Pfister's work will definitely like it, in particular the game Mombasa, which in 2016 won almost all the world's board awards.
