DESCRIPTION OF BOARD GAME DUNE: IMPERIUM

 Let the film "Dune" by Alejandro Khodorkovsky is unlikely to see the light of day, but we can imagine this great movie thanks to a huge, like his Baron Harkonnen, and a difficult book of storytelling, dialogues, and excellent illustrations by French artist Jean "Möbius" Giraud, industrial designer Chris Foss and paintings by Hans Rudy Giger. The opposite is true of Danny Villeneuve's Dune. Despite the fact that its premiere is scheduled for October 1, 2021, a game with illustrations from the same film has already gone on sale.

"Dune: Imperium" is a shipbuilding strategy authored by Paul Dennon. And this is very symbolic, because one of the main characters in Frank Herbert's novel is called Paul Atreides. Like Atreides, Dennon's figure is quite significant - he managed to make a good noise in space, made a fuss in the dungeons and even created his own corporation.

BATTLE OF ARRAKIS

 You have to lead one of the four factions fighting for the planet Arrakis, where the mysterious substance "spice" is extracted, which allows you to control the universe. Freeman warriors, the mysterious sisterhood of Bene Gesserit, the Imperial troops and the Space Guild are fighting among themselves. Participants receive components of their color, the same starting decks, consisting of 10 cards, and a leader who has a unique ability.

The party consists of rounds. The battle for Arrakis will continue until one of the participants scores 10 points. Each round includes 5 phases.

 At the beginning of the round, players open the top card of the conflict deck and select 5 cards from their decks. In the move phase, you can send an agent or open cards. After playing the agent's card, the player places it on the location with the same symbol, and then applies the effect of the location and the cell of the agent on the played card.

 Thanks to the locations, you can engage in battle with enemy factions and receive various resources. For example, in the Imperial Basin, the Haggi Basin, and the Great Plain, spices are mined, and in conflict zones, participants place cubes of detachments. By placing a worker in a location, the player also increases his influence by moving the marker to one division of the corresponding track.

 The player can also reveal the cards left in the hand and apply the effects of the corresponding cells. Swords add points of strength that determine the winner during battles. Cube symbols allow you to take squad cubes, and persuasion points allow you to buy new cards from the market. Played and bought cards are discarded.

 During the battle phase, participants with dice in the conflict zone play the appropriate cards. Rewards for the winners are determined by the current conflict map. After that, spices are added to the location, and participants return agents from the field. When someone scores 10 points, the intrigue card effects are applied at the end of the game and the software count begins. The participant who scores the most points becomes the happy ruler of Arrakis.
