DESCRIPTION OF CAYLUS BOARD GAME

 To strengthen the borders of the Kingdom of France, King Philip the Beautiful decided to build a new castle. For now, Kailus is only a modest village, but soon workers and craftsmen will flock to the carts, attracted by great prospects. The city is slowly rising around the construction site.

 Players act as master builders. By building a royal castle and building a city around it, they earn points of prestige and win the favor of the king. When the castle is completed, the player who has earned the most prestige wins.

GAME PROCESS

 Each move, players pay to house their employees in different buildings in the village. These buildings allow players to raise resources or money or build or upgrade buildings  with these resources. Players can also use their resources to help build the castle itself, earning points and services from the king, which provide greater bonuses. Building a building gives some immediate points and potential profits during the game, as players receive bonuses when others use their buildings. The buildings chosen by the players strongly influence the course of the game, as they determine the actions that will be available to all players.

 As new buildings are being built, they stretch along the road that stretches from the castle, and not all buildings can be used every time. Players have some control over which buildings are active, paying for the impact on the movement of the marker. The end position of the marker is the newest building that can be used in this process. The marker also helps determine the end of the game. As a rule, if players build a lot of buildings and the rector generously allows them to be used, the game ends faster.
