 High, high in the alpine mountains, among the green meadows, many small villages are scattered, where hardworking shepherds and farmers live. They spend most of the year on pastures, grazing cows that give excellent milk and hearty meat. But once a year, the inhabitants of the villages go down to the big city to brag to their neighbors about their milk and replenish the herd with new horned animals. However, choosing good cows is not such an easy task, and even the competitors are happy to give you some half-dead closet, which is followed by a stream of annoying flies. Let's start the cow casting!

 In the board game "Mow" (Moo) , participants play the role of farmers who collect herds of cows. To do this, you alternately lay out the cards in a row, following the order of the numbers indicated on them. But not all cows are equally useful. Among healthy thoroughbred animals, you can occasionally find rather unattractive specimens. The more flies around the cow, the less desire you have to get her into your herd. However, the most harmful cows have learned to adapt and have found abilities that will help their owners during the game!

 Preparing for the game does not take much time. Choose cards depending on the number of participants. With 2-5 players, only the green deck is used, to play with more than five players, combine the two included decks. You can easily distinguish the decks by the color of the shirts or refer to the special reference cards from the set. Shuffle the selected cards and deal five cards to each player. The rest of the cards form a deck. Choose the first player who takes the direction card and places it in front of him so that the arrow points to the neighbor on the left. Now he plays one cow card, starting the row, and immediately draws a card from the deck. Each card contains an illustration, a number between 0 and 16, and some number of flies (from 0 to 5, they can be quickly identified by the color of the background). The next player must then complete the turn by playing a card more or less than what was paid before him. And so on - players expand the range, while the available options for adding cards become fewer and fewer. If the player cannot add a card in his turn, he takes all the laid out cards and starts a new row. The round ends when the cards in the deck run out. After that, the number of flies depicted on the cards is counted and a new round begins. The one who collects 100 harmful insects first loses.

 But everything would be very simple if it were not for the antics of some harmful cows, capable of literally turning the game back. Cows of the acrobat can sneak up on cows with the same numbers already in the row, a slow cow can squeeze right into the middle of the row if there is still room for her number, some cows can fit into one of the ends of the row, completely blocking it. Milk and Lean Cows require players to take one extra card or, conversely, not to take a card on their turn. And by adding a mad cow to the herd, you are grateful to the players to use only cards with flies. Each of these cows has a special property, but once in the herd, it brings 5 flies to its owner. In addition, after playing such a cow, you can change the order of the game move by turning the card with the arrow in the opposite direction.

 In its relatively short existence, the board game "Mow" (Moo) has received several awards and was even nominated for the most prestigious prize in the world of board games, the Spliel des Jahres. The funny, colorful cows that ripple with bright flowers in the illustrations will not leave anyone indifferent! The game combines simple rules, the explanation of which will take only a few minutes, a little luck and tactical elements. Sometimes it's more profitable to take a few flies and save the special card you need to throw even more harmful cows into the opponent's herd near the end of the game.
