DESCRIPTION OF BOARD GAME CAPTAIN SONAR

 Team-based board game Captain Sonar sends you on a combat mission. Your team must face the enemy in the depths of the sea and win in a fair fight. Sea maneuvers will require coordinated actions in a team consisting of a captain, a senior mate, an acoustician and a flight engineer.

ON DIFFERENT SIDES

 Captain Sonar requires two teams to play. The ideal composition is 4 on 4. With this composition, each of the participants gets the role of one of the crew members and is responsible for his part of the work. When playing in a smaller team, players have to take control of two or more roles. So, your teams are separated by a partition. Choose the scenario according to which the maneuvers will take place and determine the game mode: real time or step-by-step. Everything is ready to dive.

CREW ROLES

 The result of your team depends on coordinated actions. The roles in the game are not equal and one is clearly more interesting than the other, but the result is equally affected by each member of the team.

 Captain . It is he who determines the movement of the submarine: north, south, east or west. He also makes decisions about surfacing, torpedo attack and placement of depth mines.

 Acoustic . Sits to the left of the captain. Its task is to determine the location of an enemy submarine. Listening to the commands of the opponent's Captain, the acoustician tapes the route of the enemy's submarine, projects it on the map and tries to determine the location of the enemy.

 Senior assistant . Each turn notes on its tablet the preparation of a certain equipment, device or a whole compartment: sonar, drone, torpedo compartment, depth mines and maneuvers. As soon as the equipment is ready for use, the captain informs the captain about it, while monitoring the serviceability of this unit (flight engineer's job). Starpom can activate Sonar or launch a drone in order to narrow the search area of an enemy vessel. The damage received by the submarine is recorded on the Starpom board (the 4th damage received causes the submarine to die and lose the game).

 Flight engineer . Monitors the status of devices. Each turn, depending on the direction of movement, he has to choose which of the devices receives wear. If a compartment or piece of equipment has even one damage it cannot be used (Sonar, Drone, Stealth, Torpedoes and Depth Mines) until repaired. All nodes are connected to the network by 4th. This connection is capable of self-healing after all its elements have been damaged. Otherwise, damage to the ship or resurfacing is required to recover. The latter will declassify your location.

TACTICAL MANEUVERS

 Teamwork and tactics are the way to victory. Cleverness, cunning, miscalculation - this is what your team needs. It would seem that surfacing will lead to the determination of your positions, but it can be a diversionary maneuver in order to lure the enemy into the sector in which the minefield is installed. The prepared "invisibility" maneuver and its skillful application can be used to avoid the close attention of enemy acoustics. In any case, the experience gained in combat campaigns will reveal a variety of tactical techniques in the depths of the sea. Good maneuvers, Captain!
