DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME INVADERS

 Invaders is a two-player card board game about war with asymmetrical gameplay. In the game, players take on the role of commanders of forces on opposing sides of a conflict.

PARTIES TO THE CONFLICT

 One player leads an alien invader on a mission to transform Earth and subjugate its inhabitants. The invaders wield incredible weapons and unfathomable technology. What's more, within their galactic armada, the aliens keep a terrifying group of strange creatures in communication, created specifically to sow chaos and destruction that herald the arrival of their masters.

 Another player commands the unyielding forces of a united Earth. In the shadow of a planet-wide calamity, the nations of Earth have joined forces to resist the coming doom that is being born on the other side of the galaxy. The Terran Alliance is a bulwark forged by desperation against which the invading forces have crashed and been repulsed time and time again. Outgunned, with salvaged or untested technology, and one foot in the grave, a focused network of military hardware, elite strike teams, military scientists, and neighboring militias is surprisingly capable of making the invaders bleed whenever the two forces meet.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PARTIES

 The eponymous Invaders seek to destroy Earth's defenses and drain their reserves. They do this by defeating the defenses in key locations, as well as forcing the Earth player to discard cards from their deck. The Invader must be cunning in deploying his creatures and war machines or implementing his schemes, as the cost of bringing assets to war often involves giving up other assets.

 Humanity must work desperately to protect critical resources and locations from the corruption and invasion of an alien threat. They do this by building formidable and deadly defenses, anticipating where the alien player will strike, and setting traps designed to deprive the invaders of key units and wear down their capabilities. Like the Invader, humans must be smart about what they use and how they use it, because their heroes may be brave, but they are few and far between, and the Invaders are relentless.

WHO IS THE GAME FOR?

 Invaders is a sci-fi game steeped in the trappings of war and horror. It’s packed with complex decisions, but built around a simple, elegant set of rules, and because of that, you’ll find that each game tells a slightly different story each time you play. Both sides use cards to represent their units, plans, resources, and events, but because it’s an asymmetrical wargame, the way these cards are played and how they advance the owner’s goals is very different. Despite this, knowing when to favor the best, how to exploit weaknesses in the enemy’s ranks, where to take advantage or fall into a trap will be key to ensuring your side emerges victorious from the quagmire of galactic war.
