DESCRIPTION OF BOARD GAME THE RAVENS OF THRI SAHASHRI 

 The Ravens of Thri Sahashri is a cooperative card game for two players. One player plays as Ren, a girl who has lost her memory; the other is a detective trying to restore the girl's memories. The game is all about communicating as best as possible by simply choosing cards.

GAME PROCESS

 From a deck consisting of cards of five suits and numbered from 1 to 5, player Ren takes four cards and holds them face down. The goal of both players is to have cards of these colors and only these colors on the playing field at the end of the hand.

 Each round, the detective draws any number of cards from the shuffled deck, placing them on the playing field according to the markings on the cards. The deck also has ravens that, when drawn, will "eat" any discarded cards of that color and threaten to take them out of play.

 When the detective player finishes, the Ren player selects one of the cards on the playing field and places the leftmost still "incomplete" hidden card. A hidden card is considered complete when that card plus the cards placed on top of it add up to a 7. (However, the fourth pile should only contain 5, according to the metric of the Japanese dodoitsu poem, which is 7-7-7-5.)

 When all four hidden cards are completed, the round ends, and if the playing field does not contain exactly the colors represented among the hidden cards, the players have failed. The game is played in three hands, but in the last hand one hidden card must be filled per round so that the players do not lose. Players also lose if the deck runs out or if all five ravens are drawn.
