"Splendor: Duel" — a card board game for collecting combinations of tokens — will definitely teach you to use your own brain and spend resources effectively when needed, and to stand up for yourself in times of trouble, because in this game no one prevents an overly ambitious competitor from playing various tricks!

 Perhaps the most enjoyable action to take on your turn is buying development cards, as they will bring you much-needed Prestige and Crown points and help you get the next cards cheaper. So, first we can take one or two optional actions (such as using a Privilege scroll or replenishing the playing field) and then we must take one of three mandatory actions: take 1, 2, or 3 tokens; take one gold token and reserve 1 development card; or buy 1 development card by spending the required number of tokens.

 Some cards have certain properties that are activated immediately after you buy them. Some will give you an extra turn, others will allow you to take tokens from the field, but they will all seem very useful at one time or another. Which card to buy is up to you, so don't blame the entire royal cavalry and army for your defeat later. Some cards also have crown symbols on them. As soon as you find your third crown, you can take 1 of the available royal cards and use its property. After the sixth crown you find, do the same, and the 10th crown will bring you the laurels of the winner.

WHERE IS THE VICTORY?

 Yes, we already said that to win you must collect 10 or more crown symbols on cards. But there are other options to make your opponent bite his elbows because of your own defeat. Firstly, you can score 20 or more prestige points, and secondly, you can score 10 or more prestige points on cards with a bonus of the same color. And only now can we mention crowns again. Any of these three conditions will make you the best jeweler of all time.

WHO IS THE GAME FOR?

 Those who like the basic Luxury, designed for 2 to 4 people, will definitely like this dueling version. The game turned out to be active and fun, and conveys the same majestic mood of the Renaissance era, familiar to us from the times of the predecessor game.
