 Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries is another great game of the well-known popular series from the brilliant Alan Moon. This time you and I are going to travel through Scandinavia. Well, in order to travel, it is necessary to build a railway connection between the cities of Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Let's start?!

GAME PROCESS

 In general, the game follows the classic rules of Ticket to Ride. Let us briefly recall them. At the beginning of the game, players are given the task of laying a railway track between specific cities. Players collect colorful cards of wagons and locomotives in their hands, which they will later play, building a path between the two nearest cities. By connecting cities, players strive to complete their big, global task. By connecting cities, players get points, completing tasks - get points again. The more completed tasks, the more points. But players receive a fine for unfulfilled tasks. The player with the most points wins.

FEATURES OF THE GAME TICKET TO RIDE: NORDIC COUNTRIES

 As you know, each game from the Ticket to Ride series has its own unique features. The Nordic countries are no exception. Even more, this version of the game is considered unusual. Let's analyze these features:

• The most important feature of Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries is that the game is designed for 2-3 players. Now you don't need to gather a company of five people to get maximum pleasure from the game. Northern countries are specially incarcerated for a narrow family circle (maximum 3 people).
• During his turn, a player can take two Locomotive cards at once. Yes, you did not hear - two at once! But do not rush to rejoice, in this game the Locomotive card can only be used when building ferry crossings or tunnels. It is forbidden to use locomotive maps during the construction of ordinary tracks.
• Any three Carriage cards replace the Locomotive card.
• The longest journey of the entire Train Ticket game series is in this game: from Murmansk to Lieks (9 cars = 27 victory points). There is a separate rule for this path: when building it, you can use 4 of any wagon cards instead of one card of the desired color. That is, to connect these cities, you can, for example, use 7 green wagons and 8 of any other cards (4 each for the 2 remaining wagons).
• Bonus points for the longest route have been cancelled. But don't be in a hurry to get upset. Now this bonus is given for the maximum number of tasks completed.

INTERESTING FACTS

 Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries is the first regional game. It was issued exclusively for residents of the Scandinavian Peninsula. However, having gained considerable popularity, in 2008 the game appeared on the shelves of all European and American stores. Also, this is the first game in the series to use parallel paths of different lengths. All in all, as we have already said, Nordic countries is one of the unusual games in the series.
