DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME ASSYRIA

 As the name suggests, "Assyria" tells the story of the emergence of the kingdom in 2000 BC. The kingdom, which was to become Assyria, at an early stage of development consisted of various tribes that were in the struggle for expansion and survival. Players are expanding along the delta, creating new villages, building wells and ziggurats. They compete for the advantages of the nobility and try to get the blessings of their gods. Some will survive this struggle, while others will fall victim to these dangerous lands.

RESOURCES, NEEDS AND ELEMENTS

 There is a constant shortage of food, and the expected floods also bring destruction. Both of these causes periodic population losses, forcing the player to rebuild his empire from the remnants. The game board depicts an area of Mesopotamia, with two rivers dividing the map into three parts. Each hex depicts one of the five resources needed to feed the populations located on that hex. At the beginning of the game, players receive several huts, a map of the plow and a map of one resource. The game is divided into three periods, with floods and intermediate points counting at the end of each period. The first period consists of two moves, the second and third periods consist of three moves each.

ZIKKURATA

 At the end of the last turn, players receive additional prestige points for each ziggurat cage, each plow card and for each group of two camels. The player who scores the most prestige points becomes the winner and his tribe becomes the most prominent tribe in Assyria.
