DESCRIPTION OF EXPANSION COMMANDS & COLORS: ANCIENTS EXPANSION PACK #6 - SPARTAN ARMY

 The Spartan Army expansion includes over 20 scenarios that focus on the period from 669 to 338 BC. In the first battles of Sparta against the Argives, we see the development of hoplite armies. We will then move on to the war with the Persian Empire and take a closer look at the Battle of Thermopylae, 480 BC. During the Peloponnesian Wars, Sparta occupied a leading position among the Peloponnesian states, which would last for almost two centuries. Finally, there is a transition of power from Sparta during the battles of the Theban era and the rise of Macedonia.

 The " Spartan Army " expansion also contains all the blocks and stickers needed for the Spartan army and its allies to take on the armies of " Commands & Colors: Ancients - Expansion #1 - Greek vs Eastern Kingdoms ". Plus one sheet of 15 new double-sided landscape tiles.

 As for the rules, if you're familiar with Commands & Colors: Ancients , you'll have no trouble learning the special rules for hoplite infantry, as the core game mechanics remain the same. Battle Dice still resolve combat quickly, while Command cards provide an element of luck that creates the fog of war and gives players both challenges and opportunities to win.

 As with all Commands & Colours: Ancients expansions to date, the tactics you'll need to employ with these hoplite armies will be extremely well suited to the strengths and limitations inherent in these historical units, their weapons, terrain and history.
