DESCRIPTION OF BOARD GAME COMBAT COMMANDER: EUROPE

 Combat Commander: Europe is a card board wargame that tells the story of a tactical infantry battle in the European theater of World War II. One player takes the role of the Axis (Germany) and the other player commands the Allies (America or Russia).

 These two players take turns playing one or more Destiny cards from their hands to activate their units on the map for various military functions.

GAME PROCESS

 Players try to achieve victory by moving their combat units around the game map to attack their opponent's combat units and capture as many objectives as possible. The degree of success or failure of the player is measured by specific "objective" counters of the scenario, the destruction of enemy units and the exit of friendly units outside the boundaries of the opponent's field. The game Combat Commander is divided into several playtime events. However, there is no sequence of actions to follow: each time segment is divided into a variable number of player turns, each of which may consist of one or more Fate card orders taken by the active player. The Actions fate card can generally be played by any player at any time. "Events" - both good and bad - will occur at random intervals to add a bit of chaos and uncertainty to each player's perfect plan.

SCALE OF THE GAME

 Each Combat Commander hex is approximately 100 feet (about 30 meters). Each full phase of the player abstractly represents a few seconds of real time. Each full game time metric is abstractly a few minutes of real time. Each unit in the game is roughly equal to one Leader, 5-man Squad or 10-man Squad. Radios – and individual weapons more than pistols, rifles or BARs – are represented by their counters.
