DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME TERRAFORMING MARS
Mars ... A red, lifeless planet. The rarefied atmosphere, as well as the high content of iron oxide, make it unsuitable for life. However, for many decades, scientists have considered it as the nearest planet for potential colonization. This is a global goal that requires enormous resources and work, and even after setting up a base on the surface of the red planet, people will constantly be exposed to cosmic radiation and other dangers. And here, terraforming comes to the aid of mankind. The process by which you can change the composition of the soil, the atmosphere and make Mars suitable for life. The board game "Conquest of Mars" will tell you about it.
"Conquest of Mars" is a new, strategic board game, which caused a lot of noise with its appearance, and almost immediately fell in love with many players. This is due to many factors, including excellent mechanics, stylish illustrations and a relevant, interesting setting. So, a few megacorporations began developing new technologies that allow to completely change the appearance of Mars. At the beginning of the game, players, as the heads of such corporations, receive action cards, game tablets and starting resources. With the help of all this, you have to grow forests, create oceans, and keep the temperature on the surface of the planet in a comfortable range for human life.
The highlight of the game is the huge variety of different trade and production chains. The game comes with more than 200 maps of technologies, scientific achievements, adventures and resources that can interact with each other in many different ways. As the game progresses, the surface of Mars will actively change. Trees will grow in the once endless desert, large and small bodies of water will appear, and life will begin to emerge.
GAME PROCESS
The gameplay is mainly reduced to budget planning, calculating the implementation of new technologies and the actual terraforming of Mars, laying out hexes of the appropriate type on the surface of the playing field. There is an element of competition in the game. You can really mess up your opponent's nerves by slowing down production or forcing them to dump some resources. As soon as the three main parameters - temperature, oxygen and water reach the maximum, the game will be completed, and after counting the points, the players will determine the winner.
