DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME TICKET TO RIDE: NEW YORK

 Welcome to New York in the 1960s! Admire the stunning views from the Empire State Building, the tallest skyscraper in the world, or stroll through Manhattan's beautiful Central Park. Check out Times Square, explore the sights of Brooklyn... in general, enjoy your stay in the business capital of the United States of America.

 The Ticket to Ride family of board games has been expanded with a very unusual release of a game called Ticket to Ride: New York. Firstly, the participants of the game will not travel by the usual trains, but by public transport, and secondly, Ticket to Ride: New York is a very fast game, designed for 2-4 participants, and one game will take no more than 15 minutes.

TAXI!

 One of the most popular modes of transport in New York is a taxi. Yellow Ford cars are known all over the world, which can be safely called the city's calling card. In this game, participants receive figurines of these same cars (each set of 15 pieces of its own color).

 Players will place plastic cars on the field, conditionally marking the routes they connect, but they will travel around the city by various public transport: trams, trolleybuses, buses, the metro, and, of course, by taxi (which, by the way, is a joker in the game).

HOW TO PLAY

 Fans of the Train Ticket series can safely start a game without looking at the rules. They are standard and intuitive. Those who encounter these games for the first time will have to spend… no more than 3 minutes learning them.

 So, before the game starts, participants are given a set of 15 cars of their color and two route cards (tasks), which indicate which New York landmarks they need to connect into a continuous path. The player has the right to keep both cards in their hands, or to throw one back into the deck.

 Also, participants receive 2 public transport cards, and a transport market is formed from the remaining cards (five cards - face up, and a deck of cards - face down).

 Players take turns, performing one of 3 actions on their turn:

• Take two open transport cards from the market, or two closed ones from the deck, or by combining 1+1. Important: if a player takes an open taxi card (joker), he does not have the right to take a second card.
• Discard a set of identical transport cards from your hand to connect two adjacent destinations on the board. The cards must match the color of the route. To mark the route, the player places their vehicle figures on it.
• Take 2 new task cards from the deck, keeping at least one of them for yourself.

END OF THE GAME

 When one of the participants has 2 car figures left in his hands, the last round and counting of points begins. Points are awarded for each connected route on the map, depending on its length (according to the table on the playing field), points are also added for each completed task (indicated on the maps), or subtracted if the task is not completed. At the end, points are added for visited attractions (indicated on the locations of the playing field).

 All points are tallied in a special notebook that you will find in the game box, and the winner is the player with the most points.

 

WHO IS THE GAME FOR?

 Ticket to Ride: New York is a family board game for a small number of participants. Short, fifteen-minute games significantly increase the excitement of the process. You are unlikely to stop playing after the end of the first game: you will immediately start the second, and then the third, etc. In general, it is addictive! We definitely recommend the New York edition of the game to the collection of Ticket to Ride fans, and the game will also appeal to fans of simple, beautiful and rich fillers.
