DESCRIPTION OF THE ADD-ON CARCASSONNE: SIEGE AND DEFENSE

 Carcassonne Siege and Defense is the seventh expansion to the Carcassonne board game, the Ukrainian edition of the Carcassonne Siege and Defense expansion.

 The Siege and Defense expansion not only adds new terrain tiles to the game (which, of course, are always needed!), but also new ways to score victory points. In this expansion, a traveling circus visits the outskirts of Carcassonne. Your subjects will take part in a grand spectacle, creating a living pyramid. If your circus director is nearby, you will score even more points!

ADD-ON REVIEW

 In the new Siege and Defense expansion, players will work together to defend the Carcassonne Fortress, which is represented by two large tiles - this fortress, when playing with the Siege and Defense expansion, will be used instead of the starting tile.

 The fortress contains three outposts - for knights, monks and travelers. Each time you place your subject in the city as a knight, you can place one of your subjects from the reserve in the fortress on the corresponding outpost - or rather in the row of cells of the corresponding outpost. Similarly, with the placement of monks/abbots and travelers: when you place your subject in a monastery - you can additionally place your subject in the row of cells of the monk outpost, and when placing a subject on the road - you can additionally place another subject in the row of cells of the traveler outpost. Each row of outposts has a limited number of cells. Also, near each outpost there is one cell in the shape of a meeples - a player can add his subject to such a cell when placing a subject on the field in the form of a peasant. Moreover, in this case, the player himself chooses which outpost he wants to place a subject near. Another feature of the meeple-shaped cell is that you can add subjects there without restrictions, unlike a row of outpost cells.

 And now the most important thing - why do we need to put our subjects at outposts? We answer - it is an opportunity to score additional points and not lose any strategic positions.

 First, as soon as one of the players occupies the last free cell in the row of one of the outposts, players receive 3 points for each of their subjects in this row and in the meeple-shaped cell next to this outpost - the more subjects you have deployed here, the more points you will score.

 Secondly, your people at outposts protect your territorial interests - every time a player reveals a terrain tile with a siege symbol, they must place a catapult in the square opposite the outpost indicated on the tile. If you need to place a catapult, and the space next to this outpost is already occupied by another catapult, then an attack occurs - everyone who defended the outpost gets points (3 points for each subject at the outpost), but the player whose subject was not in defense must remove 1 of his subjects of the corresponding type from the playing field and return it to the reserve.
