ALL ROADS LEAD TO CARCASSON

 The legendary board was invented by a teacher from Cologne, Klaus-Jürgen Wrede. The story of the Carcassonne game begins with the eponymous settlement in the south of France. The majestic walls of the old city inspired a music teacher to create another Carcassonne in miniature.

 And this is not surprising, because most often musicians are creative. Delighted, Klaus glanced over the fortress walls from the high tower just as a knight does on a game box, and in that moment Carcassonne was reborn.

Hexagons were in almost every game. Carcassonne , unlike Rome, was able to repel the barbarian attacks and return the former glory of its majesty to the Square.

So the desktop world was populated by "meples", occupying an honorable place in the vocabulary of the tabletop player. This word is formed from "my" and "people" - "my people". Meeples have become another recognizable symbol of decks along with the cube, and are actively used as logos.

 The game has endured many re-releases, but this little one has always remained its calling card. The player's choice of how to use their meeples and the original scoring system were another innovation that made Carcassonne so popular. It should be noted that the game became a faithful companion of success for Klaus, and its beauty could not be overshadowed by numerous works of the author.
