DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME HANSA TEUTONICA: BIG BOX

The strategy game Hansa Teutonica has been awarded many times in various categories. Now this legendary board game returns in a complete edition, containing the base game and all add-ons. Was it easy for medieval merchants to conduct trade? Imagine this: you live in the Hanseatic League, so you have to somehow start your own business. Lay roads between cities, build trading posts and do everything to prevail over annoying competitors.

In this Eurogame, you will earn valuable prestige points, fight for them desperately, and can achieve victory in various ways. For example, points will be earned by the network of factories you build, the developed abilities on the player boards, the number of reward tokens collected, trade routes (if you manage to lay one from one end of the map to the other), the cities you control... so we have enough conditions, but what tactics will work during this game?

Other players, also eager to win, can move your merchant tokens, making it even harder to gain a foothold. You can only take two actions per turn, making it increasingly difficult to choose between conflicting options.

Hansa Teutonica is a highly interactive strategy game with a medium level of difficulty: players block and push each other during each turn, but exceptionally cunning players can use the blocking to their advantage. There are also several game board options that you can use to improve your strategy!

GAME PROCESS

• Action Points - During their turn, a player receives a certain number of action points that they can spend on various allowed actions (movement, attack, interaction with objects, etc.). Each action has a certain value in points, and the player independently distributes them within the turn.
• Territory Domination - Players compete for control over specific areas of the playing field by placing their pieces or tokens; the one with the most influence in the relevant area gains the advantage.
• End-of-game rewards are additional victory points or rewards awarded after completing the main part of the game for fulfilling certain conditions, achieving goals, or collecting combinations.
• Harming an opponent is a direct interaction mechanic where players can purposefully harm their opponents: take resources, block moves, impose penalties, or change the rules to the detriment of another player. It often adds emotion and makes the game more conflictual.
• Technology trees/tracks are a progression system in which players gradually unlock new abilities, upgrades, or bonuses by moving along a specific branch (tree) or scale (track). The choice of development direction affects strategy and play style.
• Network and Route Building - Players create paths between locations to connect important points and gain advantages, while opponents can block their routes.
• Possession - Players control objects, territories, or resources. They gain benefits from this and are able to influence the course of the game and choose strategies.
