DESCRIPTION OF THE BOARD GAME 7 WONDERS: SECOND EDITION

 Have you heard of the 7 Wonders board game? The question is rather rhetorical, because all the last years we only hear about it. The game almost immediately caused a sensation and took the top positions of the game charts. It was released in 2010 and has collected many major awards, and in 2020 a new edition appeared.

7 MIRACLES OF 10 YEARS

 The first thing that catches your eye is the new art on the box. The wind of change took away the heavy clouds, the sky cleared, and the surrounding landscape became brighter. Colossus of Rhodes noticeably rejuvenated and slender - now he looks more like an ancient young man than a chubby man. The location of other buildings in the background and their number have also changed.

 The "miracles" have become greater. The size of the base box and additions has increased. The internal organizer has changed. The Wonders of the World tablets have been enlarged. To increase the immersion in the game, miracles were made day and night. Now you have the opportunity to look at them differently.

 The shirt of maps of epochs has changed - it is foiled and shimmers. Therefore, the updated basic set cannot be combined with old additions. The additions "Leaders", "Cities" and "Armada" were specially reissued for the new version. The art of war tokens has changed.

 The new 7 Wonders were inspired by the ergonomic and intuitive 7 Wonders: Duel. This primarily applies to iconography on maps of epochs. The rules have been completely redesigned to make them more accessible to beginners. Gone are the pages as long as antique scrolls. Players receive an 8-page booklet that is much easier to understand. Players have access to a separate brochure-hint on playing cards and their combinations.

 Thanks to the improved card layout, participants get more space at the game table. The new location of the maps makes it easy to read information. Guild maps, scattered across the many additions to the "7 Wonders", were collected and added to the base game.

ABOUT THE GAME

 

 We honestly believed that miracles do not happen and that everything ingenious has already been invented, and the noise raised around 7 Wonders is nothing more than a successful marketing move by the author Antoine Bauza and his publishers. And we were wrong. We thought it would come as no surprise that we had learned and tasted all the best that had been created in the desktop universe in recent years, but it was all the more pleasing to realize how much we underestimated this game.

 Board game 7 Wonders has absorbed a lot of the best games in the world and has woven it into such a tangle of tasks of strategic and intuitive thinking that it will have to unravel more than a dozen games. We do not claim that this game will suit everyone, but true connoisseurs and just devoted to the world of board games, it will certainly give a lot of pleasant moments and amazing feelings: from the delight of discovering something new and unusual - to the deepest respect for the author's brain. such a wonderful game.

BRIEFLY ABOUT THE RULES

 The 7 Wonders game lasts three epochs, at the beginning of each of which players receive seven cards from the total corresponding deck of epochs. The course of the game resembles a "draft", as in Fairy Tale or Magic the Gathering: received cards, chose the remaining handed over to a neighbor, played the selected card, and a new one. Cards allow you to receive and spend resources (creating buildings and wonders of the world), and also influence the civilizations of rivals.

 For the organization of cards personal game fields of civilizations with their special properties serve. Each field is bilateral, and this increases the number of unique civilizations. The game ends with the third day, and the most powerful "civilization" is declared the winner. The final power of the nation consists of winning points for the army, people, science, wonders of the world, treasury and much more, which provides many different ways to victory.
