These reasons will constantly create secret in-game tasks for players, which will put you in front of a difficult choice: help the team or play a role and act in the interests of the character.

 This game with a changing world is designed for many gaming sessions. After each scenario, players will have to choose how the story will continue.

 No scenario is complete without a fight with monsters, and Gloomhaven has a special mechanic for them, each type of opponent has its own deck of actions that determines their actions in battle. Yes, archers will constantly retreat to throw arrows at you from a safe distance, and zombies will mindlessly pile on the heroes in a crowd. To pose a threat to the heroes, opponents will constantly increase their capabilities, so do not be surprised when a well-known enemy suddenly ceases to be vulnerable to tried-and-tested tactics.

 However, in the course of the game, the heroes will have access to a huge variety of tactics, moreover, the fatigue mechanic will constantly change the tactics available to you. At the beginning of the battle, you will have a carefully selected arsenal, but each card can be used once per turn, and to return discarded tactics cards to your hand, you will have to permanently discard a card, sometimes by your choice, and sometimes by chance! Yes, complex dungeons will be able to exhaust and force strong but unprepared heroes to retreat.
