 Do you remember what happened in the winter of 1982? No? And if we hint that it was something?... Yes, we are talking about the same cult horror film: a polar station, a dangerous extraterrestrial organism capable of copying and absorbing living beings, against the incomparable Kurt Russell, snowy landscapes and an atmosphere of complete hopelessness. Now this terrible story is back on the agenda, and you are personally at its epicenter!

 The semi-cooperative board game The Thing: The Board Game will teach you to doubt everyone at the table. Which of your polar explorer friends must escape from this dangerous place, and who can no longer be called human? Or maybe you are the same monster that everyone is so afraid of, but who is just trying to survive?

ONE AGAINST ALL

 A stealth-role strategy board game where everyone is pitted against an unknown evil, and one of them becomes that evil, that's what "The Thing" is all about. Let's say right away: there won't be an invincible alien who will crush everyone on the first move. It is the most difficult for the unfortunate monster, because his task is not to betray himself, although other options for tactics are possible. But the humans will feel uneasy somewhere in the middle of the game, when (if!) the extraterrestrial creature gets used to it.

GAME PROCESS

 The playing field consists of many locations: boiler room, kennel, radio booth, recreation room, kitchen, arsenal and other premises, between which our characters will move and perform various actions there. Each round will have approximately 8 phases (depending on the circumstances):

• Weather conditions - roll the weather cube.
• Maintenance of the station and approach of the helicopter - depending on the current weather, we remove from the locations or add fuel chips there, move the helicopter.
• The alien's action takes place only if his role has already been revealed.
• The action of the characters — we set up at the station, think about ways to escape, survive!
• Rest and blame — we change the position of the discs on the track of suspicions, we exchange items and weapons, we rest and accuse our friend of being a foreigner.
• Checks — if we found a flamethrower and a wire or a blood sample, we can check other players for the "monster".
• Food - drop food from the kitchen to feed the characters.
• Moving dogs and changing the leader — we move potentially contagious dogs between locations.

 During skirmishes between characters, there will be infection checks, during which we will secretly look at the other player's infection tokens and move the suspect disc on the corresponding track. Wanted to change your role? Here's the perfect way to become an alien!

WHO WON

 In the board game "The Thing: The Board Game" everything depends on your decisions, so the ending can be completely unpredictable. People will win if they manage to escape from the station by helicopter or snowmobile, but only if no one is forgotten in the snow and there is no exile with tentacles among the escapees. In order to win, the newcomer must fulfill one of the following conditions:

• absorb the last person;
• leave someone to freeze at the station;
• infiltrate the company of people and escape with them on one of the helicopters or a snowmobile; or
• to escape completely in proud solitude, setting out to explore this brave new world.

WHO IS THE GAME FOR?

 You don't have to be a fan of the movie Something to love this stealth board game. The beast here, namely, an extraterrestrial being, is completely unpredictable, and they can turn out to be anyone, even someone you completely trusted. The game is best played in companies of 4 to 8 people, but there are also special rules for 1–3 participants.
