DESCRIPTION OF EXPANSION 7 WONDERS: CITIES - SECOND EDITION

 The second addition to the popular board game 7 Wonders: Second Edition opens a new side of our cities. Cities are growing, competition is increasing, power is becoming greedy - it is to such realities that we have to adapt. The Cities add-on adds new features that increase competition and interaction between players: espionage, diplomacy and mandatory financial losses. The addition is not independent, so the presence of the basic game is mandatory. For a full game, the addition of 7 Wonders: Second Edition - Leaders is recommended.

UPDATED CITIES

 As in the case of the second edition of the basic game, we are waiting for a new art. We see the face of a spy who has previously turned his back on us. He changed his clothes a little and watched the solemn procession.

 The maximum number of players has been reduced to seven. Iconography has become more intuitive. The leaders that appeared in the first edition of the add-on were moved to Appendix 7 Wonders: Second Edition - Leaders. To improve the balance, the guilds made separate promotions. Also note the redesigned in terms of balance of miracles.

DARK CITY

 New maps of epochs are added to the game - 9 maps in each of the three epochs. These maps bring a new look to the buildings and are highlighted with a black background. In addition to many interesting features of maps based on basic actions and resources, Cities introduces three new features:

 Financial losses. This action is always aimed at the opponents of the player who played the card. If the action obliges to suffer financial losses, then players have to make a choice: to pay with coins from their treasury, to pay in part and get the difference with loan tokens or take a loan token for the full amount. The loan token cannot be repaid during the game, and at the end of the game will bring penalty points.

 Diplomacy. By playing a card with the symbol of diplomacy, you get a peace token. Holders of such tokens do not take part in the conflict resolution phase - the phase is played out as if you are not there. Diplomacy not only saves you from hostilities, but also forces your neighbors to resolve conflicts with each other. After the conflict phase, the token is reset.

 Espionage. Technological progress cannot always be obtained scientifically. If someone has already made a discovery, then why invent a bicycle? You can spy or be passionate about finding out secrets from people who have the right level of access. Espionage allows you to use the scientific achievements of neighbors for their own purposes - to add a technology icon to your set.

EVEN MORE OPPORTUNITIES

 The supplement includes two tablets Wonders of the World. Age cards are shuffled to the appropriate decks, and players start each round with 8 cards in their hands. There is a variant of team play. A team is two participants who are placed side by side. The game is played according to the usual rules, and the points scored by the team members are added up. The winner is determined by the amount of points scored.

FOR WHOM THE GAME

 The expansion is recommended for all owners of the board game 7 Wonders: Second Edition. If you want to diversify the game, then Cities is just the same case. Espionage, Financial Losses and Diplomacy allow you to try new strategies.
